 | Fearless Forecast - Spring Psychosis |

Hawkeyes.Org Web Geek
Even though the Hawks missed out on post season play again this year, Hawkeyes.Org proudly presents our 2010 NCAA Basketball "Spring Psychosis" Bracket Picking contest.
For those of you who were around last year when people still remembered nobody missed Steve Alford, the rules are the same. For those of you who are new to these parts, don't be surprised to find out that the rules to our bracket contest are a little bit different than what you might be used to.
(Editor's note: a couple of years we came to an agreement with folks at the NCAA over the use of their trademarked phrase "March Madness" - basically, if we don't use it, they won't sue us into multi-generational debt. So, we'll continue with the name they deemed "too stupid to litigate over")
As usual, there are no prizes, but if you win, you'll have until December to brag about being the most recent Fearless Forecast winner.
Read inside for the rules...
Like most pools, you can pick the entire bracket up front if you choose. However, like the Football version of the Forecast, you have up until game time to change your mind.
Upsets will cost you, but they don't leave you completely out of the picture, because you can always go choose Vermont in the second round if they knock off Syracuse in the first round.
Scoring is as follows:
Each correct pick in the first round earns you 1 point, so that's 32 max.
Each correct pick in the second round earns you 2 points, so there's another 32 max.
The third round nets you 4 points, for another possible 32 points.
The games in round four, the Final Four, and the championship game are all worth 8 points each, for a total of 56 possible.
For those of you not keeping count, that's 152 possible points.
