I caught the news last night with the Lickliter conference and a couple of interviews with the players. FWIW, it appears that the Freshmen are extremely loyal to the coach and the program. I agree that all of this really sucks and raises major red flags, but I wonder if it's a case of players loyal to Alford not wanting play under Lickliter's system for one reason or another. I'm probably grasping at straws trying to be optimistic, but I wonder.

I think you re grasping, and its understandable, as we all long for this program to be relevant again. Except for Palmer, Lick owned the others as recruits, as none of them had signed when he came on board, he had to recruit them himself and did ( plus, he tried to get Kelly while at Butler ). This is an example of players in revolt, with the Coach, his "system", his ability to coach , the Coach and his staff's ability to personally bond with the players, and all.
Only two players attended the presser, with Gatens, he has played ball with Licks kid and probably has a better relationship because of that, and with Tucker, he may just be grateful that is still in school, as quite a few would have dumped him with his issues.
I think this most likely gets worse. To look at the kids they are trying to get, many are saying they want to play up and down style, that isnt Lickliter, so what is being told kids? I really doubt Lickliter will suddenly change his style, as he describes it a philosophy, and thats a pretty ingrained thing.
I would prefer they let this coach and staff go and start over. This is the time to get new coaches, look, even Gillespie is available, and he may be like Tubby, better away from Kentucky. _________________ Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain

I'm stepped back from the ledge a bit and I am willing to see who is recruited to fill these vacant scholarships before I'll call it a "disaster."
It's not like any of these players are in demand or transferring to schools that will help further their basketball careers. Indiana State? Last in the Valley. Missouri State? Middling Valley team. Mankato State? Average Division II program.
My mind is back to open, but my patience is growing thinner.

I dont know if you rate their abilities by where they are going as much as by how much they want to leave are where they ae going to get away. His recruiting will be revealing, or at least I hope so. _________________ Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain
