Actually, it was great for nearly the entire game until close to the end. Then, our boys just made boneheaded shots. That's really what it boiled down to. Had they exercised a little more patience and taken more high percentage shots, I'm sure they could have scored a W on the road. Too bad!

Could fatigue have played a part? A lot of minutes with very short bench.

And, to look on the bright side, the bumps and bruises of this year should be motivation and experience to build on for the next few years.

Of course, I do think the officiating, as usual in the BT, was horrid, and really hurt the Hawks at the end too.

Didn't see it so I can't add much. My take on Iowa basketball is this -- I think the nucleus of Kelly, Gatens and Cole, combined with the (hopeful) return of Tucker, the return of Peterson, and the continued development of Fuller, means a team that should finish .500 or better in the Big Ten in 2010 and be at worst a bubble tournament team.

If they're not, I will truly be concerned next year, but I'm not reading much into the rest of this year.

I don't think fatigue was a factor....or, if it was, they didn't let it show. There was just real poor decision-making at the end....a few horrible choices where they should have held out for a higher percentage shot.

40 minutes in a game can wear one down, make poor decisions. Of course, it could be simply bad decisions too. Lets hope that improvement comes, especially nect year. If next year is a flop, then we may have some issues with leadership ( and I dont mean the players ).
