A reasonable and prudent move at this time. See what the new staff, recruiting focus and crop of players brings over the next couple seasons and the new AD can either go another direction without a crippling buyout or lock him up long term.
I´ve been one of SA´s harshest critics but he has made changes and earned a chance to see if he can get this thing going. _________________ Schadenfreude.

We all knew Alford would be extended. I am more skeptical than you. I just can´t get behind the guy. I know the recruiting has come alive with the new staff´s help. The best head coaches are the coaches who attract and "sign" this kind of talent themselves with their on and off-court reputation. Alford has lagged for years in this vital area IMO, so now he needs assistants to bail his program out.
Just the same, there isn´t any point in moaning. SA is with us for awhile. And I would love it as much as anybody if the Hawks build a basketball power.
By the way, Donny. Do you really look like that yellow-headed man with the white glasses? Just wondering.

Uber, you are fooling yourself if you think its merely the HC who pulls in recruits, just look at how Lute has relied very heavily on his assistants, and that has paid him the big dividends. _________________ Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain

Naw, what I have left of my hair is brown. He´s a character, Milo, from a great comic strip that ran in 80´s called "Bloom County." The writer, Berkeley Breathed is from Iowa or at least lived in Iowa for many years and may still live in CR. Many of the settings in the strip were Iowa City landmarks as he lived in IC for quite awhile. The strip, in its heyday, was absolutely hilarious, biting, cutting edge stuff. Click the link to learn more. Info about the Iowa City connection is near the bottom.
You don´t want to see me. I´m not a good looking man unless balding, slightly overweight (5´11, 210) and rapidly approaching middle age suddenly constitutes "good looking."
