I miss the idea of having a ´signature recruit´ at Iowa though.

And Freeman isnt?

He WILL make a difference. He already is.

Plus, the odds for Dahlman to be a Hawk, are very high. We will probably find out in September, hopefully by mid month. MSU has started recruiting a kid near Rockford, who they had stopped recruiting a while ago. They must not be real confident in getting Dahlman. Now, we simply wait and hope for the best.

Henery - if you go back to the Skinner post that I believe you started you called him a signature recruit - I was being tongue in cheek.

He may be a fine player, but if you go by the traditional rating services, star system (etc.) (which I understand is somewhat bunk, that´s not my point), Freeman is a decent recruit, but he´s hardly a "signature" recruit.

When I think of those guys, I think of the McD´s AA-types, the guys tearing it up at the major shoe camps, the guys being recruited by MSU, Kansas, Kentucky, et al. I don´t think Freeman was quite that caliber.

Again, before you jump on me, he may be just fine.

Dahlman may be a "signature" recruit, or at least close. We can argue all day about the state of the hoops program, but, at the end of the day, we both hope things turn around. Our only disagreement is whether we have confidence in the current regime to get it done. You do, I don´t.

After seeing multiple headlines on Freeman last year, he strikes me as a second coming of Mike Henderson, rather than the second coming of Andre Woolridge. He wasn´t a big scorer or assist man for a good program here. He´s tough for sure, but I think Henderson is more similar to his game.

I´m not a recruiting expert but that´s hardly a ´signature´ recruit either.

BIG diference on Waterloo vs Chicago, much less coming from one of the storied programs and top coaches. The comp level is MUCH higher, needless to say. This kid has already been pushing MH and the others this summer. He LOVES hoops, he´s hungry.

Dahlman is considered top 30. That is signature. This program is turning it up. Lets hope the results show on the court this year.
