will come from this season. These guys will learn from this season and get better. Tonight's game would have benefitted from some senior leadership.

They just laid down..seriously. It was a combination of some lack of heart and I think Lickliter being unsure of how to deal with it. They probably should have taken a timeout earlier in that surge and just regrouped. I was certain the Hawks were going to win that game and it would have been huge for them on the road. They had control of nearly the entire game....can't let one like this go.

Laid down? Gimme a break. A team of mostly freshmen, a couple of sophs, and inexperienced junior, against a hot team at home, leads for 38 minutes and they laid down? Laid down is when your never in the game, get blown out ( like by 50 points ) and never really are in it. This team is improving, has to learn to win, has to mature physically and pay physically. Plus, experience will help them play past officiating that was atrocious ( like Hightower's anticipation call on Gatens. There was NO contact, NO foul ).

PSU attacked Iowa's weakest point, dealing with a press, and Iowa actually did better than in some games, but they still came up short. Peterson was better and when he was out, Davis really wasnt running the O efficiently ( and the foul on him was a joke ), so during the press, he was the only option and thats hard. These guys will be much better at this next year, the experience will grow them tougher and in the offseason almost all of them will need to work hard and get physically stronger ( like Fuller, as he really demonstrated his abilities tonight, but he really needs more strength too. His upside looks pretty good ).

A timeout may have helped, it sucks to lose, but better days are ahead for these guys.

Yes, Henery, laid down....no break for you.

LOL...Henery thinks he's got the one definition for "laid down". Laughing

Well, I know I won't get the last word - and that's no big deal to me - but I never said they quit. Quitting is different. Laying down is conceding...not quitting.

Conceding IS giving up, and they didnt do that.

"Fun with semantics" starring Henery and T-Rex.

It's a disappointing loss. Until Iowa gets better at handling pressure these types of things are going to happen. It's frustrating. They are 2-5 in the Big Ten and about five minutes of decent basketball away from 4-3.

It's not coaching. There is just not enough talent and experience on the roster right now. Tate's loss was huge.

Tate would have been the toughness needed to contain Cornley some, and that could have calmed things a bit. But as it is, the youth is demonstrating why is such an extremely rare thing to win with freshmen, and in this case, without seniors/upperclassmen t balance out.
