The calm before the storm...headlines are quiet heading into the weekend, as everyone's preparing for Big Ten Football media days beginning Monday. Indeed, headline pickins are slim, as there's more about RAGBRAI than Hawkeye Football. Still, a couple recruiting nuggets, Bryan Bulaga signs his NFL contract, another look back at "MAD" Basketball in the Tom Davis era, and academic honors for Track and Field. On Iowa!!

You can feel it. The Prime Time Basketball league is done. The dog days of summer are in full swing. The calendar is just about to flip over to August. Football is RIGHT around the corner. And the Big Ten Media days in Chicago start on Monday. Check out the coverage as we ramp up to next week's official kickoff of the 2010 Football season. Plus, the Magic Bus may have run out of tricks, Football recruiting, and Iowa plays a key role in Penn State's "key stretch".
In Men's Hoops, Darryl Moore can still mix it up with the youngsters, Eric May is working hard, Coach McCaffery is looking ahead to the 2011 recruiting class, and Roy Marble Sr. tries to make a fresh start, while Devyn Jr. is trying to succeed in his first go-round as a Hawkeye. It's quiet heading into the weekend, but if you need your fix, there's a little bit of football news, with ICPC columnist Pat Harty making his 2010 Football predictions, and ESPN's list of "workout warriors". About ten days away from the Big Ten media days in Chicago, and the BTN and ESPN will be airing much of the event. Tony Moeaki signs a contract with KC, some old legal news from years ago, a look at the OL, and Iowa makes the cut in analyzing Michigan's key stretch this fall. Men's Basketball coach Fran McCaffery says he likes being the "rebuilder", Zach McCabe and Matt Gatens speak out about the road ahead, and news from Women's Volleyball. Go Hawks!!
